Strata is a survival voxel sandbox where the entire game is about going down. Start on fragile floating islands at the top of a 400-meter quarantine pit and descend through six hand-tuned vertical biomes — basalt cliffs, claustrophobic radon-filled caves, a toxic anoxic sea, and the vitrified ruins of brutalist laboratories.
Built on a custom Rust volumetric kernel, Strata simulates cellular fluids and volumetric gases in real time. Acidic sap dissolves stone. Methane detonates on spark. Heavy radon pools invisibly in deep craters. Bolt your outposts into sheer cliffs with vitrified concrete — miscalculate the structural load and your base shears off into the dark.
Every block, fluid and hazard is defined in JSON: the simulation is open to community synthesis from day one. Strata is being built by one developer in public.
Bloomforge is an independent studio of one. Established 2025, working remotely from a small house in the EU — made with too much coffee and a bad heart.
Bloomforge rejects cookie-cutter commercial engines. Every block, fluid and hazard in Strata runs on a custom Rust volumetric kernel built from scratch. The mission: give players absolute control over a hyper-reactive environment, with emergent gameplay over scripted events.
